[b]Shenzhou 13 taikonauts conduct second spacewalk[/b] Chinese astronauts on Sunday (Dec. 26) conducted a spacewalk for the second time during the Shenzhou 13 mission. Ye Guangfu began the spacewalk at 6:44 p.m. Beijing time (5:44 a.m. EST or 1044 GMT) with Zhai Zhigang following later. The 6 hour, 11 minute excursion was completed at 12:55 a.m. Beijing time on Dec. 27 (11:55 a.m. EST or 1655 GMT on Dec. 26). During the spacewalk, Ye and Zhai deployed a camera platform and confirmed autonomous object transfers. The EVA was Ye's first and Zhai's third. Zhai has now logged 12 hours and 58 minutes in the vacuum of space, including 22 minutes on China's first spacewalk during the Shenzhou 7 mission 13 years ago.
